Identities of victims in fatal crash on Florida Blvd. released

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A fatal traffic crash shut down both directions of Florida Blvd. Monday afternoon between Sherwood Forest Drive and N. Flannery Road. The crash happened just after 1 p.m.

According to Baton Rouge Police, 20-year-old Tralen Shantia Riddle of Zachary,  LA was killed in the crash. She was driving a 1994 Toyota Camry. Police say she had just left a car dealership on the south side of Florida Blvd. and was traveling north, across the eastbound lanes of Florida Blvd., when she was struck in the driver's side by a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by 20-year-old Reginald Richardson of Baton Rouge.

Police say Riddle died at the scene. Richardson suffered minor injuries and was taken to Ochner Hospital by EMS. His passenger, 19-year-old Gabriel May, was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.

All lanes were reopened about two hours after the crash.
