TN senator jokes about 'pressure cooker control' after Boston bombings

A Tennessee lawmaker is not backing down from a blog post that joked about "crock pot control" in reference to the use of pressure cookers in the Boston Marathon bombings.

Over the weekend, State Sen. Stacey Campfield, R-Knoxville, posted a photo that has been circulating on many gun rights websites, showing what is titled as an "assault pressure cooker" and includes labels such as "tactical pistol grip" and "can cook for hours without reloading."

Campfield said he's already received a few calls about the post, and some commenters on his blog said the image was "tasteless" and "unbelievably inappropriate."

Campfield told Channel 4 News the post was meant to show that President Barack Obama's push for more gun control after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School was inappropriate.

"He's pulled in the parents, the brothers, sisters and everybody else to push for gun control - to restrict gun access rights, restrict gun owners. So I wonder if he's going to do the same thing to restrict pressure cookers?" Campfield asked.

Campfield added he didn't think his blog post was insensitive and said that "it just shows the hypocrisy of the left."
