Waveland police investigate 2 overnight shootings

WAVELAND, MS (WLOX) -

Waveland police are investigating two separate shootings that happened Tuesday night.

According to Waveland Police, the first shooting happened at Morris Street. When officers arrived they found a black male with gunshot injuries.

Shortly after the shooting at Morris Street, police said, there was another shooting at Louisa Street.

Waveland Police Chief Kenneth Hurt said four shots were fired into a home. Hurt said the residents left just before the shooting and no injuries were reported.

The victim from the Morris Street shooting was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical, but stable condition.

Waveland police said the shootings appear to be connected and may be retaliatory. Police are investigating both shootings.

    Neighbor Damian McSherry lives a quarter of a mile from the Chisolms. He and his wife were driving home last week when they spotted smoke in the sky. They pulled into the Chisholms' driveway to find the home engulfed in flames. Damian pulled out his cell phone and started recording.
