BOSTON (CBS5) -

Businesses in downtown Boston are working to return to order after tragedy hit Monday morning with explosions near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

"After the first explosion went off, the ground really shook. Everyone was trying to figure out what it was," Maggie Warren said.

Warren is the manager at Stephanie's on Newbury, a cafe in downtown Boston near where the explosions went off.

"The second one went off and we realized it was an attack. Everyone was just screaming and running," Warren recalled.

"People that were coming around the corner were all covered in blood," Warren said.

One of the people injured was a woman whose leg was nearly blown off.

"Her leg was completely mangled. She was covered in blood." Warren said.

Despite all the chaos, Warren and co-workers did everything they could to help that victim.

"One of our servers is a nurse. She ran and got a bunch of towels and started helping her put pressure on and start help [to] stitch her up," Warren said.

That memory is now stuck in Warren's mind.

"It kept me up all night. It was a state of shock. You slowly start to put things together and realize what happened," Warren said.

No one has publicly claimed responsibility for the act Monday that took the lives of three people and injured 176.
