17-year-old arrested at Douglas Port with $134K of pot

DOUGLAS, AZ (CBS5) -

A 17-year-old boy has been turned over to federal officials after he attempted to smuggle nearly 269 pounds of marijuana through the Douglas Port of Entry, authorities said.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection said officers found 246 packages of pot throughout the Agua Prieta teen's van on Sunday. The drugs, valued at $134,000, were processed for seizure and the teen was arrested.

    Officials with the Mississippi Department of Transportation said the damage is still being assessed, and it's possible the bridge will have to be replaced before it can reopen.
