Hancock County investigators on Lockhart case to meet with D.A.

HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - It has almost been a year since the horrific discovery of Jaren Lockhart's dismembered body washed ashore in Hancock County.

Hancock County investigator Glenn Grannon confirmed investigators will be meeting with the district attorney's office Wednesday.

Investigators said they believe they have enough evidence to present a case against two people named as suspects--Margaret Sanchez and Terry Speaks for desecration of a corpse.
Grannon said his office has  a "moral obligation" to move forward with this case, even if they can't get murder charges against either suspect yet.

Lockhart was last seen on surveillance video inside a French Quarter men's club days before her disappearance leaving with Sanchez and Speaks.

"We hope to make progress in the case. It's been siting there and siting there. A lot of evidence is in the FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. We are hoping to bring this case to court soon," Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam said.
