If you haven't noticed, we're in full Spring Fling mode here in South Mississippi. Whether you're looking for a fun, carefree day or somewhere to let your hair down, the Gulf Coast is the right place to be. 

More people than ever are surviving cancer. By taking part in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Hancock County, you can help raise the funds needed to save lives and create more birthdays. Attendees are encouraged to form a team of family and friends and participate in this all-night action-packed event. Call your American Cancer Society to find out how to form your team.

South Mississippian's love their crawfish and what better way to celebrate crawfish season than with the 6th Annual C&R's Crawfish Cook-off in Waveland. Activities include a boiled crawfish competition, liquor basket raffles and crawfish eating contests. Plus live music will be provided by Jr. and Sumtin Sneaky. All proceeds benefit Hope Haven.

The Harrison County Riding Club will hold riding competitions Saturday at the Harrison County fairgrounds. Watch horses and their riders take part in a wide variety of competitions for all ages including races and barrels. Bring family and friends and take part in $1 raffles. Concession stands will be available on the show grounds.

Change up your dinner plans and dine from a buffet menu with local in mind. The Pascagoula River Audubon Center and Real Food Gulf Coast are teaming up to cook up dishes caught and grown in South Mississippi like alligator, crab and shrimp stew. The list goes further with a variety of farmer's market vegetables, breads and other side dishes. You can also join in a foraging expedition around the Audubon center.

Live on the Green concert series is back again at Florence Gardens in Gulfport. Pull out your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy Corey Ledet performing live at the Florence Garden's town green district. The entertainment doesn't stop there. There's also a 5k run and food vendors will be available.

    In the last 30 days in Biloxi, 284 building permits have been issued for $23 million worth of construction. The permits are for everything from homes to businesses that include restaurants and hotels.

    Neighbor Damian McSherry lives a quarter of a mile from the Chisolms. He and his wife were driving home last week when they spotted smoke in the sky. They pulled into the Chisholms' driveway to find the home engulfed in flames. Damian pulled out his cell phone and started recording.
