TONOPAH, AZ (CBS5) -

A FedEx semi truck crashed on Interstate 10 Thursday morning causing packages to scatter across the freeway, according to DPS.

DPS said it happened about 10:30 a.m. at milepost 94, near Tonopah.

DPS said crews worked quickly to clear the packages from the freeway.

ADOT said a single lane of westbound I-10 reopened about 11 a.m. Drivers should expect delays in the area until both westbound lanes have reopened in the area, about 60 miles west of downtown Phoenix.

The Pascagoula Panthers open the 2017 football season on the road. In fact, their first three games are road contests. That scheduling quirk may give field turf crews just enough time to get War Memorial Stadium ready for the September 8 home opener. The wet weather in South Mississippi is placing quite the burden on construction workers as they attempt to complete stadium renovations. The project was suppose to be finished before the beginning of Pascagoula's football season.
