Woman who found man stabbed and beaten speaks out

Posted: Updated:
PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

Remnants of caution tape still line the scene in Pass Christian where a man was found brutally beaten and stabbed. The man, who we learned today is Robert Norbert Trosclair, was literally left on the side of the Cunningham Road near Lobouy Road.

Aside from an obvious no dumping sign, and miles of trees, the scene could have easily been overlooked. But the victim was spotted by a good Samaritan who chose to stop.

"We were on our way back from the movies and we were going back to my boyfriend Bradley's parent's house. We were just driving down and happened to look around us and there was this guy lying in the ditch," Kris Sala said.

Bradley immediately dialed 911, as Kristi sat with the unresponsive man. The efforts weren't in vain. Mr. Trosclair was airfield to USA Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama where he was last listed under critical condition. Had he not been found it time, that might not have been the case.

"He was making these gurgling sounds like he was choking on his own blood or something. He definitely had some serious wounds going on. It was weird. Not something you see every day," Sala said.

Trosclair was found bloody, but still breathing. Stripped of his clothes and any kind of identification. It was a gruesome scene, but Kristi said she knew she had to get out of her car to help.

"I was raised to do the right thing when I was a kid, and I know Bradley was, too. I'm just glad that we were able to find him. Not a lot of people would stop to help, so I'm glad that we did and I hope he's going to be okay," Sala said.

If you have any information about the attack, contact the Harrison County Sheriff's Department at Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898. Or text "CSTIPS" and your message to 274637 (CRIMES).
