BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Gulfport man, who police say hit and killed an elderly man last month in Biloxi, is now charged with DUI Causing Death.

The results of a blood alcohol content test on Shumarcus Henderson just came back from the state crime lab. And according to investigators, the test shows Henderson was over the legal limit on March 16th.

That Saturday morning around 2am, police were called to the accident scene on Highway 90 and Reynoir Street. They found a man in his 70s lying on the ground dead. The vehicle involved in the crash had left the scene.

Police were able to track down the suspected driver, Shumarcus Taiwain Henderson, 32. At the time, he was only charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death.

His wife, Angela Marie Henderson, 29, was a passenger in the vehicle. She was charged with accessory after the fact.

Shumarcus Henderson is being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center.  Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain set his bond at $500,000.

Police say more charges are pending. If you have any information that could help in the investigation, you're asked to call the Biloxi Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at (228) 392-0641 or Crime Stoppers at 1-877-787-5898.
