Biloxi mayor repays city $47 for pumped gas

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi Mayor A.J. Holloway's office has sent a letter to the city council explaining why he put gas in his personal car from the city pump.

The letter, from Chief Administrative Officer David Nichols, says Holloway used his personal car for city business one day last month when his city vehicle was not available. Holloway put $47 worth of gas in his car from the Public Works Department pumps.

The mayor alerted Nichols the next day, who in turn told Holloway his action violated procedure.

Holloway has already repaid the city for the gas.
