Feels like Spring!

Posted: Updated:

The warming trend continues as temperatures returned to near normal for early April.

Most spots started out in the low 40's Saturday morning, which is still several degrees below normal. Our Saturday warm up to the mid 70's with intervals of sun and clouds.

We will see a much warmer night. We will only drop to the low 50's thanks to the clouds and a south breeze.

We can't completely rule out a few showers during the day Sunday, but most spots will remain dry. Otherwise, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds with afternoon temperatures back in the 70's.

A dynamic storm system will impact a lot of people next week, including the deep south.

Based on the current storm track, the highest risk and greatest impacts will remain northwest of us, but it's still too early to know for certain. Bottom line, expect at least one round of strong to severe thunderstorms by midweek; the most likely time frame for Mississippi is Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

We'll be able to get more specific in terms of timing and specific threats within the next 24 to 36 hours. In the mean time, enjoy the beautiful spring weekend!

As Ja-Naya Thompson's short life was celebrated, there were a lot of tears and hugs as hundreds of people paid their respects during the visitation and the funeral service.
