JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police say a traffic violation led to an arrest and the recovery of a stolen truck Thursday afternoon.

According to Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department, officers tried to a pull a vehicle over for running a stop sign on Cedar-Hurst Drive. The occupants of the vehicle reportedly got out and fled on foot.

Police say the 2000 Chevy Silverado the men were in had been reported stolen.

After a search involving multiple officers and Metro One, the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Andre Johnson, was arrested at a house on Broadmoor Drive. Johnson is charged with auto theft.

Police haven't located the passenger of the vehicle.
