Tift County's Greene named Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

Tift County's Brannen Greene continues to rack up honors.

The 2013 Georgia Mr. Basketball has also been named the 2012-2013 Gatorade Georgia Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

Greene averaged 27 points per game, adding nine rebounds and six assists, while leading the Blue Devils to the Class AAAAAA quarterfinals.

He is the first Blue Devil to receive the award, and is now a finalist for the Gatorade National Player of the Year.

The 6'7 shooting guard finished his career in Tifton with more than 2,000 points, and has signed to play at the University of Kansas.
