Members Of 155th Receive Proper Sendoff

Members of South Mississippi's 155th Infantry Battalion are preparing for deployment to Iraq, but not without the proper send-off.

A special going away party was held tonight for the guardsmen in Waveland.

The party was organized by the members of American Legion Post 77, Ladies Auxiliary Unit.

It was the Auxiliary's way to say good-bye to the battalion and wish them well.

The guardsmen will report to Camp Shelby next weekend for training before heading out to Iraq later this year.

"It is showing these boys that us as a community are behind them 100 percent we support everything they do we will take care of their children and their spouses while their gone and that's the least we can do," says Auxiliary member Judy Bergeron.

The battalion will find out their exact date of deployment to Iraqi after training at Camp Shelby.
