CBP: Phoenix man busted on drug smuggling charge

SAN LUIS, AZ (CBS5) -

A 46-year-old Phoenix man was arrested Monday for attempting to smuggle nearly 42 pounds of cocaine into the U.S., Customs and Border Protection officers said.

Officers and a detection K-9 discovered 16 packages of drugs throughout the pickup driven by Martin De La Torre Dominguez. 

The drugs were valued at more than $378,000.

The drugs and vehicle were seized. De La Torre was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
