PHOENIX (CBS5) -
The man arrested for leading Arizona Department of Public Safety officers on a high-speed chase through the East Valley on Feb. 8 was a no-show in court Monday, the second time in two weeks he has missed a court date.
Court officials said a bench warrant was issued for Joshua Marcus Bloom, 35, who is accused of reckless driving during the chase on State Route 85 that exceeded 100 mph while Bloom was on the phone to local media.
Bloom also failed to appear in Maricopa County Superior Court on Feb. 25.
DPS officers said Bloom was driving recklessly and when they tried to stop him, he took off. The passenger-side mirror struck one of the DPS officers in the wrist as Bloom drove away.
DPS said Bloom was arrested in December during it DUI task force, after he led police on another chase.
