Jackson Co. man charged with shooting, killing horse

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A Big Point man faces up to five years in prison for shooting and killing a horse in the Harleston community of Jackson County.

Jessie Paul Bergeron, Jr. was charged with felony killing of an animal offense on Thursday, March 7. The charge stems from Bergeron shooting a horse in the Harleston community. The horse died from the gunshot wound.

Bergeron, 37, lives at the 7600 block of Browns Road in the Big Point community. He was released from the Jackson County Adult Detention Center the same day as his arrest after posting $2,500 bail. If convicted, Bergeron faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
