SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) - Five people are under arrest and two children are in state custody after sheriff's deputies said they discovered a meth lab at a home in Saucier Friday morning.
Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said his deputies executed a search warrant at 18364 Leslie Lane where they found methamphetamine, precursor chemicals to manufacture the drug and an active meth lab. Investigators also found two children sleeping very close to the actual lab. Those children are now in the custody of DHS.
Deputies arrested Joe Poole, Rickey Meshell, Lindsay Tate and Kristen Hysmith. All are charged with possession of a controlled substance and manufacturing of methamphetamine.
Also arrested was Jamie Broadhead, who faces the same charges, along with two counts of child endangerment.
The sheriff said a Hazardous Waste Disposal Team was at the scene of the lab removing chemical waste from the property.
