SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Woodruff man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the theft of nearly $19,000 worth of Girl Scout Cookies last month.

Spartanburg County deputies said that on Feb. 26, the cookies were reported missing from Carey Moving and Storage.

Investigators said that after reviewing surveillance video and invoices, 37-year-old Christopher Morton, who worked at the business, was named as a suspect.

On Sunday, Greenville County deputies found 350 cases of Girl Scout Cookies behind an abandoned business on Haywood Road, according to investigators.

On Wednesday, Morton confessed to stealing 450 cases of cookies, worth $18,900, and then disposing of the cases in Greenville, according to deputies.

Morton was charged with breach of trust more than $10,000.
