It didn't take long for a jury to determine Ryan Abeyta killed his own mother. Jurors deliberated for less than an hour Wednesday before they announced their verdict.
Abeyta was found guilty of murdering his mom in 2011. Pamela Marlene Santiago was beaten, strangled, and dumped in a wooded area near Biloxi River Estates.
Prosecutors convinced the jury her 2011 death came after an argument over drugs, alcohol and stolen money. They said the evidence introduced the last two days proved her son was the murderer.
