DALLAS, TX (WAFB) -
The FBI is
looking for a serial bank robber dubbed the "Loan Ranger Bandit" who
is suspected of robbing 10 banks in three southern states over a 3-year period.
Federal
investigators said the suspect has robbed banks in Arkansas,
Mississippi and Texas. He is considered armed and dangerous. He is known to carry a small handgun.
He is described
as about 5'7" to 6'0" and weighing about 200 pounds with a medium
build. He is believed to be in his early 30s. He has short, light brown hair
and has a small mole or mark just above his right eye on the lower part of his
forehead. He also wears glasses.
The FBI
said he was given the moniker "Loan Ranger Bandit" because of the
blue Texas Rangers baseball cap he wore while robbing banks where loans are
offered. He varies his outfits between athletic wear, jeans and business
attire.
Investigators
said he may drive a maroon Chevrolet S-10 truck with a white pinstripe around
the bed.
They added
the suspect didn't try to hide his face during the crimes. He hands a note
demanding 20s, 50s and 100s. So far, no one has been hurt.
He has robbed two banks in Arkansas, one in Mississippi and the rest happened in Texas. The first was in Jan. 2009 and the last in Oct. 2012.
Anyone who
sees him should call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit a tip online.
