HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A fight between two Harrison County men turns into a murder case. According to Harrison County's sheriff, the fight was between Larry Johnson and Johnny Otis Owens III both of Gulfport.

On Monday, authorities received a call about an altercation at the home the two men shared at the 18000 block of Robinson Road in Gulfport. Fifty-year-old Johnson was found unconscious, suffering massive head trauma.

Johnson was reportedly beaten so badly, he got rushed to the hospital.  And that's where he later died Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities initially charged Owens with aggravated assault. But, when Johnson passed away, the aggravated assault charge became a murder charge.

Owens is currently in the Harrison County jail. His bond was set at $1,000,000 by Judge Dianne Ladner pending court proceedings.

Investigators have not said why the two men got into a fight.
