GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - George County Sheriff's deputies arrested 31-year-old Christopher L. Gallegos of Loveland, CO after he was allegedly found with several bags of hydroponic marijuana worth thousands on Friday, February 15.

He faces careless driving, possession with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia charges, according to George County Sheriff Dean Howell.

A sheriff's deputy reportedly spotted Gallegos driving his car erratically for several miles on Highway 63 in George County.

That deputy stopped Gallegos and asked for his driver's license. Gallegos reportedly said his license was suspended.

The suspect was then asked twice to get out of his vehicle.

Once he was out, a crack pipe was found on the driver's seat along with a marijuana cigarette and a lighter, Howell said.

Howell said, the deputy noticed a strong marijuana odor coming from the car.

When the vehicle was searched, the deputy reportedly found a large suitcase in the trunk containing six, one pound bags of marijuana. The total street value of the marijuana was estimated to be worth $72,000.

The marijuana will be destroyed by the State of Mississippi Crime Lab.

The suspect was transported to George Regional Correctional Facility, where he posted a $10,000 commercial bond.

His license has been revoked.
