Moments later, the gun's owner was taken to jail. Police say Sam Edward Yu is charged with attempted aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The 21-year-old is from Montgomery, Alabama.More >>

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security officials are working to combat identity theft.
Officials from those departments are joining the Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Austin Peay State University and Cintas Document Shredding of Nashville for a community shredding event on Saturday.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Capt. Stacy Williams oversees the Identity Crimes Unit. She says the event was organized to give people a secure location to discard personal and private documents.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Austin Peay's campus.
Individuals are being asked to bring no more than two boxes or trash bags of documents to shred.
