HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Hancock County Superintendent Alan Dedeaux said West Hancock Elementary went into lock down Wednesday afternoon after a parent of one of the students made threats to pick up his child from the school.
The father is reportedly involved in a custody battle with the child's mother. Dedeaux said, the man never showed up at the school. However, as a precaution the school went on lock down and notified authorities.
Lock down means all of the students were kept inside secure classrooms, until school officials determined there was no danger.
The school also enacted their robo calls to parents. The incident delayed dismissal and students got home about 15 minutes late.
