Ocean Springs high schoolers help with St. Jude Dream Home

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Construction of the St. Jude Dream Home, located in Tradition, is almost finished. Volunteers from Ocean Springs High School came out Sunday to help with the landscaping.

Football players, cheerleaders, and members of the dance team recognized the importance of the dream home and they wanted to help. The progress of the home, valued at around $425,000, is evident.

The high schoolers gave a helping hand. They said the day was more of a blessing for them.

"Laid down the straw and that plant. Yea we've had some guys help us put some sod down and then they cooked us some good food too," said high school seniors Samantha Moeller and Sara Ridgeway.

Construction on the home is expected to be finished in two weeks.

Tickets for the "Dream Home" give-a-way cost $100. They are available at Tradition and at Allen Toyota in Gulfport.

The drawing will be held on Sunday, April 14.
