Governor Phil Bryant is in Hattiesburg this morning to see for himself the damage left behind by a tornado Sunday evening.
According to Gov. Bryant, this tornado cut a 75 mile path through South Mississippi. It hop-scotched across Marion, Forrest and Lamar Counties. And as it did, it tore through an estimated 200 homes and mobile homes, and another 100 apartments.
As the tornado blew through, 13,339 people were without power. That number is still close to 4,300.
As of 10am Monday, the state knew about 50 roads with debris covering the area. At least 63 people were treated at two hospitals in the Forrest County area. Most have been released. There are no reports of any fatalities.
