KILN, MS (WLOX) -

Kevin Boudreaux, 21, of Hancock County is in custody after allegedly shooting and killing his sister Janelle Boudreaux, 20, Sunday evening, according to Hancock County Sheriff Ricky Adam.

Sheriff Adam said the shooting happened during a dispute at the 4000 block CC Road in the Kiln. Relatives told WLOX the dispute started after the suspect ran into his ex-girlfriend at the Pass Christian parade.

The suspect reportedly wanted to reconcile and asked the ex-girlfriend to come to the home on CC Road. When the ex-girlfriend arrived at the house, the two began arguing. That's when the family said Janelle Boudreaux stepped in to break up the argument and was shot by her brother.
