SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

It's been windy with a lot of cloud cover today caused by a storm system headed our way.

Currently several counties in South Mississippi are under a tornado watch in effect until 11 Sunday night.

Stone, Jackson, Harrison, George, Greene, Perry, Wayne counties are all under a tornado watch in effect until 11 p.m. Hancock and Pearl River counties are under a tornado watch until 6 p.m.

The watch means weather conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area. Residents in the watch area should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for updates and possible warnings. There have been numerous warnings throughout Central Mississippi and Northeast Louisiana.

Expect heavy rain, strong winds and pea sized hail with this system.
