PONCHATOULA, LA (WAFB) -

Drugs may have been a factor in a deadly single-car crash Thursday afternoon in Tangipahoa Parish.

State Police say Justin Estopinal, 33, was driving north on LA-445 when he lost control of his car, ran off the road, flipped and hit a utility pole and tree.

Estopinal, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say drug impairment is suspected in the crash.  A toxicology sample has been sent to the State Police Crime Lab for examination.

The crash happened about two miles north of LA-22.
