The Jackson County Carnival Association rolls 63 floats deep this year. They've also got a new addition--The Purina Cat Food Float. The pet food company is coming down with an awesome float built especially for the parade. In addition, the Pascagoula High School Band will be setting the mood with great music. Cross your fingers organizers tell me for the past two years they've had to postpone the parade because of rain. Come out early to tailgate along the two mile route, but please be mindful: don't liter, no animals and stay behind the barricades.

There's around 30 units lined up for the Krewe of Diamondhead Mardi Gras parade. Most of them come in the form of a uniquely decorated golf carts. While golf carts may seem smaller than the average size floats the people on them pack a lot of energy with great music, candy and of course beads. This parade begins at the community center, moving towards the Diamondhead Country Club.
