PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) -

State Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in a deadly crash near Prairieville.

A northbound pickup on LA-44 left the road, then overcorrected, crossed over the road and hit a Pontiac G8 in the southbound lane.

The driver of the pickup Brady Delaune, 21, was killed in the crash.  he was not wearing a seatbelt.

State Police say they suspect Delaune was impaired at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Pontiac and her passenger, a 2-year-old, were properly restrained and suffered only moderate injuries in the crash.

The crash happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
