A Vicksburg car crash sent a toddler to the hospital Monday night when the child was ejected from the vehicle.
According to Vicksburg police, 21-month-old Brooklyn Weimer was not restrained properly when the vehicle she was in was struck by an oncoming car.
The crash occurred on Highway 61 south at Dana Road at 9:55 p.m. Monday. A 2003 Mazda Protege, driven by Monique Weimer, 23, of Vicksburg, was attempting to turn left on Dana Road, crossing northbound traffic.
Weimer's vehicle was struck by a 2002 Volvo sedan, causing the toddler to be ejected from the car. Brooklyn Weimer is currently at University of Mississippi Medical Center in critical condition.
There was one passenger in the 2003 Mazda, but that person was not injured. No other injuries were reported in the crash. No charges have been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.
