Only minor injuries in Hwy 49 accident

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Believe it or not, the driver of this truck and his passenger only sustained minor injuries in an accident on Highway 49 Tuesday morning. It happened around 9:30am near Harrison Central High.

The Ford truck overturned, crushing the top of the cab. The Mississippi Highway Patrol said Daniel Wilson of Gulfport was headed south on 49 when he lost control of the truck, went into the median and overturned.

Officials are investigating witness accounts that a tire on the truck may have blown just before the accident. Wilson and his passenger were taken to Garden Park Medical Center where they were treated for minor injuries.
