3 teens charged in armed carjacking

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson police have three juveniles in custody in an armed carjacking Friday morning.

According to Officer Colendula Green, police spotted a car stolen in an armed carjacking and pulled it over on McDowell Park Circle Friday morning.

The occupants of the vehicle fled and were tracked to a nearby house. Three juveniles, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, were charged with armed carjacking.

Officers recovered two guns, one of which was reported stolen in Biloxi. One of the teens was additionally charged with possession of a stolen firearm.

Police also recovered several items from recent house burglaries at the residence. No charges have been filed related to the house burglaries, but the investigation is ongoing.
