PONCHATOULA, LA (WAFB) -

A 51-year-old man was arrested on rape and child porn charges after authorities searched his home.

The Office of Louisiana Attorney General said Robert Swan of Ponchatoula was taken into custody after investigators found evidence showing he was involved in the possession, production and distribution of child porn.

Investigators said further evidence obtained on his computer led to the rape charge.

Swan was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on aggravated rape and three counts of pornography involving juveniles.

Officials said he could face up to life in prison if convicted of aggravated rape. They added each porn charge means the possibility of over 20 years upon conviction.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Attorney General's High Technology Crime and Fugitive Apprehension Units and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.
