2nd Air Force Change Of Command

There will be a change of command ceremony at Keesler Air Force Base Monday morning.

Brigadier General Loyd "Chip" Utterback will take over command of 2nd Air Force at 9 a.m. Utterback comes to Keesler from Camp H. M. Smith in Hawaii where he served as Deputy Director of Strategic Plans and Policy.

Prior to that, he commanded the 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa Air Base in Japan.

Utterback replaces Lt. Gen. John Regni. Regni is now Commander of "Air University" at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.

    In many areas of Front Beach in Ocean Springs, the sand is almost gone, blown away by gusty winds and choppy seas. But with the help of a $150,000 state tidelands grant, the city is hoping a program called "The Living Shoreline" will provide a permanent solution.
