Darton women enjoy big home win

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Playing on their home court for just the second time this month, Darton used a first half run to cruise to a 72-44 win over Andrew College.

The game was just the second in the last eight conference games for the Darton women.

The Lady Cavaliers had four players in double figures led by Michelle Mitchell 18 points.

Freshman point guard Jasmine Wilson was credited with 11 assists.

Darton was trailing 7-6 when Mitchell's jump shot began a 15-2 Darton run and opened a 23-8 lead.

Andrew's Jordan Ulm then hit three baskets to cut the Lady Cav lead to 10.

Ulm finished with 20 points.

Darton's Chanteniece Fann scored 12 points, Kadayasha Jones added 11 and Crystal Reed scored 10.

Darton is now 21-3, 13-2 in the GCAA and gets a week to rest before playing at South Georgia Tech next Wednesday.

In other action, East Georgia College defeated Albany Tech 93-50.

South Georgia Tech men win at Georgia Highlands 72-58 but the Lady Jets fall 52-46.

In the Peach Belt, Georgia Southwestern snaps a five game losing streak defeating Lander 64-54 at the Storm Dome.

The Lady Hurricanes lose 70-63 to Lander.
