One suspect has been identified after using credit cards stolen in a weekend robbery.
Wednesday morning, authorities released a photograph of that man. The photo was taken at a McDonalds drive thru where the cards were used. As of Wednesday evening, no arrests have been made and the man's name is being withheld.
Police are still investigating whether or not the man was actually present during the gun-point robbery. They know for sure he used the stolen credit cards.
Police say around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a woman was walking from Electric Cowboy dance hall, back to her car parked in a shopping center parking lot across the street. It's there she says an older model white car pulled up with four black males inside. They demanded her cell phone and displayed a small black pistol. She gave them her phone and purse and they drove away. Police have not located that white vehicle or confirmed who the men inside the car were, but identifying this suspect puts them one step closer.
"We had officers who were familiar with the picture, and we had several tips from citizens. Those lead us to the same person and he came in voluntarily," said Tyler Police Department Detective Andy Erbaugh.
The driver of the vehicle is described as a black male, approximately 5' 9:, and about 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray hat.
The victim was unharmed during the incident, according to police.
Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime are urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833). Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
