PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) -

The crew with Good Morning Mississippi just spoke with Pascagoula Lt. Shannon Massey. Massey confirmed 20-year old Clarence William Jones III turned himself in to police Monday night around 11. Jones is now charged with aggravated assault.

There is still no word on what led to the shooting at the 300 block of Brazil Avenue around 6:40 Monday night.

Massey said a caller told police that Marcus Tate was shot. When police arrived they found Tate with a single gunshot wound on the ground.

He was transported to Singing River Hospital. He was treated and is listed under stable condition. Jones is being held at the Pascagoula jail. He'll have initial appearance before Judge Michael Fondren on Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information on the shooting should call the Pascagoula Police Department at 228-762-2211 or Crime Stoppers 1-877-787-5898.
