Stabbing suspect found leaning on truck drinking a beer

HAMMOND, LA (WAFB) -

Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 49-year-old man after a stabbing Monday morning.

According to reports, Perry Winder and another man began fighting at a home on Illinois Jones Rd. in Hammond, LA.  During the fight, Winder allegedly stabbed the other man several times.

Several bystanders cared for the victim until first responders arrived.

The victim is in stable condition.  His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Winder was arrested at the scene of the incident.  He was found leaning on the back of a near by pick up truck drinking a beer.

Winder has been charged with aggravated second degree battery.
