Gulfport City Councilman Plans To Resign

Gulfport is losing a longtime city council member.

Richard Rose plans to resign Wednesday so he can accept a job as D'Iberville's new city manager. The D'Iberville council voted Tuesday night four to two to give the job to Rose.

Rose has been a member of the Gulfport council for 15 years.

By law, Rose is required to resign from his ward two council post. Former D'Iberville city manager, Alan Santa Cruz unexpectedly left the job two weeks ago citing health concerns.
