WASHINGTON, DC (WLOX) -

The presidential inaugural festivities included someone from all 50 states, and Mississippi's representatives in the parade came from Pearl River County Community College.

The Spirit of the River marching band took part in the inaugural parade, which started Monday afternoon but lasted well into the evening. The band went by the President's reviewing stand just after 6pm Washington time, playing "God Bless America," and earning a bit of applause from the Commander-in-chief.

For some of the band members, this is their second inaugural march.  Several PRCC band members marched in 2009 with the Petal High School band.
