OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -
Customers at the 740 Bienville Blvd Ocean Springs Sonic got more than just an order of fast food around 3:30 Thursday afternoon. Police say a car literally drove through the drive-in and hit another car in front of customers and employees.
Ocean Springs police say the accident happened after an elderly man, who was trying to pull into an ordering bay, lost control of his dark blue Cadillac CTS.
He reportedly drove through Sonic's covered patio area, knocking over items on the patio, along with an order screen. Then he hit a car on the other side of the patio, Lt. Julian Quiroz said.
Quiroz said both drivers were startled. No one was injured and no charges were filed. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.
Employees have cleaned up the area and both vehicles were towed.
