The search in Moss Point is over. The body of 55-year-old boater Timothy Gordon has been pulled from the Escatapwa River. Now investigators are saying marijuana may have been involved in the accident.
Authorities are calling an Ellisville man a hero after a rescue late Tuesday night.
The Jones County Fire Council, which provided these photos, says Kassie Ford's vehicle plunged into the Tallahala Creek – after being hit by an 18-wheeler. The fire council says Jimmy and Karen Thompson witnessed the crash. Mr. Thompson immediately jumped into the water and pulled Ford from her submerged car.
The unidentified driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured. The highway patrol is investigating the incident.
