SAUCIER, MS (WLOX) -

Harrison County investigators said they believe the prospect of collecting home insurance money is the reason two men conspired to burn a Saucier home on November 17, 2012.

The fire reportedly happened at a home located at 18552 Highway 15 in Saucier. Harrison County Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said that home belonged to 38-year-old Billy Seaton of Saucier.

Brisolara said an investigation and several interviews revealed Seaton and 30-year-old Jesse D. Wood of D'Iberville conspired to destroy the home by burning it.

Brisolara said investigators also discovered Seaton tried collecting insurance money on the house. Wood allegedly tampered with evidence that would have implicated both Wood and Seaton in a conspiracy, Brisolara said.

Wood was arrested on January 7 and Seaton was arrested on January 14. Both were charged with felony arson. Wood was also charged with tampering evidence.

They were taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Wood's bond was set at $55,000. Seaton's bond was set at $50,000 pending a hearing.
