BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -
On Tuesday, Biloxi Mayor A. J. Holloway announced that next week he will nominate Arlene Wall to finish the rest of her husband's term on the Biloxi city council.
Arlene's husband Tom Wall recently passed away Monday, Jan 7, 2013. It was just a day shy of his 74th birthday. He was in his fifth term and had been serving as a Biloxi councilman.
Tom had six months left on his council term.
According to the City of Biloxi, The popular West Biloxi councilman, who would have turned 74 on Tuesday, the day after his death had announced several weeks ago that he would not be seeking a sixth term on the Biloxi City Council. He was first elected to the council in 1993 and his west Biloxi constituents re-elected him in 1997, 2001, 2005, and 2009. He was the longest-serving council member since the city switched to the mayor-council form of government in 1981.
