Official says Bishop Roger Morin's surgery was a success

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The Bishop of Biloxi underwent a successful quadruple bypass surgery on Monday, according to Catholic Diocese of Biloxi Director of Communications Terrance Dickson.

Dickson said now Bishop Roger P. Morin will begin the recovery phase.

Dickson said he was experiencing chest pains over the weekend. The 71-year-old was admitted at an undisclosed hospital Monday morning to for treatment.

His episcopal motto is "Walk Humbly and Act Justly."

Bishop Morin was installed as Bishop of Biloxi on April 27, 2009. Dickson said, he is has been  instrumental in social justice causes. Especially for those in the New Orleans area.

Dickson said more information will be released as it becomes available.
