LAS VEGAS (WLOX) -
Miss Mississippi Marie Wicks enters day two of the Miss America competition Wednesday in Las Vegas. Wednesday night, the Ocean Springs and Ole Miss grad competes in the talent portion of the competition. Marie is a brilliant classical pianist, so we are expecting this to be one terrific night.
Late Wednesday morning, we in the media will have an opportunity to meet the judges, including Good Morning America's Sam Champion, and the long time host of Entertainment Tonight, Mary Hart.
I will also have a chance to chat with Marie Wednesday, as she seeks to become the 92nd Miss America. More on that on our facebook page and here on WLOX.com.
Tuesday night, Marie competed in the preliminary event for both swimsuit and evening gown. Although she did not win, she looked beautiful, poised and confident.
Be sure to watch WLOX Saturday night for the Miss America pageant. You can root for Marie at home while we let those in the auditorium know that we Mississippians can be mighty loud.
